Be Authentic
Today was my granddaughter’s birthday..she is officially now a teen..uh in How she is that old….it is an unfathomable mystery…for I am only 36..well, I will admit that I have decided to keep trying the age of 36 again and again..or at least until I can get it right..but then that might come next to never…but I don’t have an issue with that..
I want to dedicate the next few writing’s to her… she is my favorite..they are all my favorites..I have 3 beautiful and amazing granddaughters….What would I want to her to know..what knowledge would I have wished I had known, and would not have had to take a lifetime to learn..
#1 Be Authentic
Before anything else..be authentic..be yourself..being authentic is knowing who you are and being brave enough to live it… and in being authentic there is no competition.
Wake up every day, take a good look in the mirror, and tell yourself, “No doubt about it—I’m fearfully and wonderfully made!” That is true beauty..being true to yourself and owning your own uniqueness..
There is a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson that is more true today than ever before “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” ….
True authenticity will cause you to fall in love with yourself..and to be self-compassionate…which will benefit all your relationships…both romantic and non-romantic..seeing yourself with compassion…including your flaws with kindness…you will be happier and more optimistic..even in the midst of life’s inevitable bumps.

You can never fail at being yourself..your imperfections make you beautiful…our imperfections make us humble…there is a beauty in our flaws…it is our cracks or flaws that will allow the light of our soul to reach others….shining a light for others to walk their path without stumbling…perfection is purely fictional and a dream killer of the highest degree..
