I stepped on a plane in Louisville, Kentucky in July of 2019. Everything I owned whittled down and packed into two suitcases and a carry on. Eight thousand + miles later, I stepped off the plane in Johannesburg, South Africa. I have always loved adventure and traveling, but that was the most grandiose escapade that I had ever taken.
Having gotten bored with searching for any compatible mate, I threw the towel in. Deciding instead to look for pen pals in various parts of the world. “What a fantastic way to learn about the world without all the drama.”
Then the trouble began. One person wrote me, offering to help me fix my photograph so that it was right side up, instead of lying on its side. Now, how gentlemanly was that? Hmmm…He was interested in similar travel, in dancing, was smart (had to be, he was a mechanical engineer), flew an airplane, great conversationalist, etc., etc…
After a month of dialoguing with myself, I convinced myself that I was just being a wuss. What did I have to lose? I would have a 10-day road trip from Atlanta, Georgia to Louisville, Ky. He even paid for separate accommodations. A gentleman extraordinaire.
I threw the dice and four months later, cracked the binding and opened this new book, in this series, we call “life”. Like any story, its full of conflict, fear, tension, lots of surprises, memorable characters and a life that is magical, every single day.
